The Full Story




I’ve been hanging out in the kitchen since I was about 4 years old. Around 1995 my mom let me put the toppings on my own pizza crust and my love of cooking grew from there.  I continued to watch my mom make something from nothing; amazed by her yummy creations and the possibilities. Eventually I graduated to helping in the kitchen during the holidays and by time I was 13 years old I was cooking holiday meals entirely on my own. I still enjoy cooking but it's baking that truly gets me excited.


Though Mommy wasn't a big baker, her and I learned from the best-- my great-grandmother Mom Mom Beulah. I like to think that I've adopted the "effortless" skills of Mom Mom, judging batter by sight and baking times by smell. Baking for me is an act of love and peace in the kitchen and is a skill I owe to these brilliant women.


After baking for upwards of 15 years, I officially launched SunniSweets in November 2018. What was once a hobby that treated family and friends has now turned into a business. My passion is creating the most delicious, dairy-free goodies for your everyday enjoyment and after years of baking, I'm super excited to share my sweet journey with you.
